CASPERS HOME PAGE
Welcome to my web site which is dedicated to all things army. I have made this page to give you an idea of who i am and what I've done in my army career. There is no great in depth descriptions of me, my feelings or the people I work with, this is just a description of my time in the Corps of Royal Engineers. So please take your time have a look over the site and make your own decisions.
The History So Far

The Beginning
Well heres all you need to know of me. I was born in Manchester and grew up in a small town called Droylsden with a loving family, but this is all you need to know before i joined up. My career start on the 8 March 1996 when i attended a look at life weekend with 75 Engineer Regiment (V), from then there was no looking back. I served for the next five years as a member of 201 HQ Sqn, which was based in failsworth Oldham, as a combat engineer. While in the unit I was attached to a number of different units, including a long spell as a C3 systems operator and driver with 3 RSCG in BATUS in 1998. My final attachment from 75 Engineer Regiment (V) was to Kosovo in 2001, with 11 Fd Sqn to start with and with 39 Armd Engr Sqn to finish, i also deployed with the Sqn on Op TFH over the period of Sept 11.

How We Got Here
After a long needed leave, nine months on tour is a long time, I joined the full time army in Feb 2002 and was sent to Germany, to 2 HQ Sqn in 32 Engineer Regiment in Hohne, where I worked in the design cell for a few months before starting my design course. I then spent the next year at 1 RSME training to be a Design Draughtman before returning to Germany. I was now posted to 26 Armd Engr Sqn which has to be said is possible the best unit I have served in, because of the comradeship and approach to work. I started my time in the Sqn in sigs troop where I was able to put my past trade to good use on exercise while attached to recce as a CVRT driver and later as the OC's Warrior Driver, upto Op Telic 7 coming up in 2005. 26 re-roled to a search troop and boat troop, I was to selected to be section second in command, in search troop and after a few course's we deployed to Iraq. The tour was good and we all came home, it was the best time in my army career.
On are return to Germany we re-roled again in to a armoured squadron, with me in field troop. From then to now I have attended a number of courses and had exercise after exercise, in Germany, Poland and BATUS where I recieved my promotion to Cpl and was posted to AFC Harrogate.

Where We Are Today
So after a number of course's and a short time in Waterloo Coy, I'm now two section's, section commander, 26 Platoon, Alamein Company, AFC Harrogate and we will have to see how it goes. So all I have to say is if you are one of mine, learn the corp song and do as your told, then we'll get on.
